Trainor and Lambert will also sing original songs for the film.

The animation-live action hybrid movie, based on the popular kids toy line, is due out next year. The film will follow the adventures of siblings Charlie (Bateman) and Marla (Taylor-Joy). When the former unexpectedly disappears into the animated universe of Playmobil, Marla must go on a quest to bring him home. During her adventures she teams up with some unlikely new friends, including smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Gaffigan), dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Radcliffe), a wholehearted misfit robot and an extravagant fairy-godmother (Trainor). Lambert will voice the character of villain Emperor Maximus.

Director and story creator is Disney veteran Lino DiSalvo, who served as head of animation on Frozen and was animation supervisor on Tangled and Bolt. Script is from Blaise Hemingway, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland and head of animation is Julien Bocabeille, animator on The Boss Baby and Kung Fu Panda 3. Producers are Aton Soumache, Dimitri Rassam, Emmanuel Jacomet, Alexis Vonarb and Oliver Stone regular Moritz Borman. The same producers all previously worked on animated pic The Little Prince.

Lionsgate handles world sales. Open Road was due to release in the U.S. but is off the film following Global Road’s bankruptcy. The Playmobil team is now in talks with potential American distribution partners. A number of deals have already closed including to Studiocanal in the UK and Tele München Group in Germany. Pathe will release in France.

Anya Taylor-Joy Is More Than Just Another Hollywood Scream Queen

With The Masterpiece’s The Miniaturist airing its second episode on PBS America tonight (if you live in the UK, yes, it’s the same show that aired just last year on BBC!), Anya has been promoting the show and IndieWire has just posted an interview where she speaks about her character and how she picks her roles!

Anya Taylor-Joy made quite the impression in her breakout role as the vulnerable Thomasin in “The Witch.” Since then, she’s been no stranger to projects that delve into horrors and the evil that men do, such as when she played a kidnapped girl in M. Night Shyamalan’s “Split.” This career trajectory has caused some to dub her the next scream queen, but that label feels far too simplistic.

For one, Taylor-Joy only rarely plays the damsel in distress. In fact, she’s often the one to watch out for in films such as “Morgan,” “Thoroughbreds,” and in the upcoming “New Mutants” adaptation in which she portrays a mutant with sorcerous powers. Nevertheless, there’s still a desire to define her as a type of “it girl,” perhaps because her wide-set eyes and porcelain skin give her an otherworldly air that fits with these sinister storylines.

“In Hollywood people always want you to have a thing,” Taylor-Joy said in an interview with IndieWire. “People give you a thing, whether you want it or not. I followed the roles that I love and the story that I love. I never make the decision of, ‘I’m pretty good at horror, so I’m going to keep doing this right now.’ It’s more just like my characters just happen to inhabit very dark worlds.”

Instead of being drawn to a genre or tone, Taylor-Joy lets the role pick her.

“It’s a weird sort of magic feeling when I read a script and I hear the character’s voice,” she said. “If I hear her voice instantly and I already start sitting like the person, I’m just like, ‘Okay, this person belongs to me, and I belong to them.’”

(Photos) Inside Cartier’s Dare To Be Bold Party With Anya Taylor-Joy

As posted earlier, Anya attended last night the Cartier Party during London Fashion Week. While getting ready for the party, Anya did a fun photoshoot for Vogue and honestly, it looks like the real party took place in the hotel room haha. You can find the photos in our gallery and the small article below!

001.jpg003.jpg008.jpg007.jpg

“I went with a velvet two piece from Self-Portrait because I’m excited about the sudden chill in the air and the juxtaposition of heavy velvet and hot pink felt perfectly transitional,” Anya explained to Vogue on her outfit choice for the evening. “Jewellery wise I’m wearing the Juste un Clou collection from Cartier – I love wearing a simple tool such as a nail in its most precious form. It’s audacious whilst also reminding you to see the beauty in the everyday. I like an edge.”

So how long does it take Anya to get ready and look that good, you might be wondering? “When by myself, I’m out the door in three minutes. My version of a ‘going out’ look is literally just smearing lipstick on my bare face. For an event however it’s about an hour, including multiple chat breaks with my wonderful hair and makeup team… I find it hard to stay still for long.”

With Henri and Mimi Xiu behind the decks, great music was guaranteed at the Cartier party but the songs that get Anya in the mood to dance are Jungle ‘Happy Man’, Banks ‘Underdog’ and Mura Masa ‘Move me’. And dance she did. See all the images below.
